Flamingo Birthday Party

30th May 2019

Super small and simple Flamingo party that you can do with a quickness! A little dollar store, a little Target, a little Amazon…the triplets of easy and cute party planning. Here are a few details for all of you hoodlums out there.

Customized anything is the best thing in the universe. I customized this template on Zazzle that my 4 year old picked out. I ordered them in a tiny 3 by 5 size and they were cute and made the corners of my mouth move upward in a smiling position.

I don’t want to surprise anyone, but those cute mini lawn flamingos came from Target in the dollar spot, which is actually up to a 5 dollar spot. That is also where I found the cute metal cake stand a year or two back. The two lacey containers and the solid ceramic pot are from Ikea where I hope to be laid to rest one day.

Fishing line and balloons helped me finish her party reallll quick in the final 15 minutes. I taped a napkin on to the light pink ones for cheer and good measure.

The napkins are from Target and the plates you can get at Mighty Dollar and feel mighty about your one dollar plates. The runner is from Hobby Lobby and I’ve used it for 3 parties and counting: Disney Zombies, Series of Unfortunate Events birthday, and now, Flamingo party. It went back in the party trunk and lives to see another celebration.

You can buy these lights at a ton of places. This particular one is from Target, BUTTTTTT I got this Target light at Bargain Hunt for 2.50 so two fingers in the air if you’re a gangster.

These food picks came from Oriental Trading Company in packs of about 5 million. I scored each pack for a little over three bucks, one of each, and ripped the idea straight off of their site. They were too cute and I thought they went well with the neon light flamingo. You can also buy these same picks on Amazon. Click to find the flamingos here and the palm trees, here.

Holler if you hear me on these cups/favors from the dollar store. That’s right, one dollar. Don’t hate the player.

Inflatable drink floats used to serve ice cream. That’s it. I’m done. It’s my favorite. I’m sure everyone has seen these little floats in the Target cheap spot and I had to have them. I had to have 6 exactly, and then figure out how to use them at my child’s party. I bought clear pedestal dessert cups for another party and they so happened to fit perfectly in the drink holders! How fun is this, Sally?

You can pay 100 dollars a cup for Dippin’ Dots OR get this brand for 99 cents a cup from Kroger. I vote Kroger. I not only voted, I bought 9. This was another super fun unexpected birthday treat!

The balloons came in one pack from Amazon and the girl came from my womb.

Also, this decor is weak sauce but so is your mom.

Sand dig! I did this years back at my two oldest daughter’s 5th and 2nd Easter themed birthday. It’s an activity and a favor all in one. These favors are all Spritz from Target: glow in the dark ooze, flashing rings, and flamingo erasers that you can take apart. Actually, I lied. The erasers were from the Target bargain area. (I’m trying to see how many different things I can call that spot in one post.)

Each guest went home with the favors they dug from the sandbox, their Flamingo cups, and one of these pineapple doughnuts from Krispy Kreme! I tied the boxes with black and white baker’s twine and they were perfecto. It was so easy and perfect that they have these as one of their summer doughnuts! I thought, “Rebecca, the kids might think these are gross.” Then I thought, “These kids don’t know what’s good for a party.” Then I felt better about buying them because they were special in my party heart.

This cute watermelon/flamingo float/pineapple shirt is from Walmart, their Garanimals brand. Listen, Walmart has upped their game in the clothes department from kids to grown stinkin’ ups. Get it, Walmart. Thanks for all you do for affordable cotton materials.

Pin, share, enjoy!

Series of Unfortunate Events Party

28th April 2019

I always appreciate when my kids want an uncommon theme naturally so I don’t have to force any creativity upon them, lol. It may be an obscure theme and if you haven’t watched the show or read the books, you may not know what everything is or why I did what I did so thank heavens above, you can read my comments on the pictures! I tend to do parties that you can’t buy any party supplies for so I have to really flex the creative muscles, which I love! I hope you enjoy this very unfortunate party.

One of THE BEST resources for your party’s customized goods is Zazzle! I make custom stickers and shirts, like this one, alllll of the time for parties. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are three of the main characters and my girl’s favorite. I saw a shirt similar to this on-line for around 28 dollars. Nope, pass. I used the Word Swag app to make the wording on a transparent background and then uploaded the image to a custom shirt on Zazzle. I made this shirt for 15 bucks, shipped and all.

Ahhhh, cake sniffer. It’s weird and I love it. It’s a name that a little rich spunky character calls the Baudelaire kid’s in one of the episodes and one many lovers of the show remember! I bought a blank garland and stickers from Hobby Lobby to make this banner.

I decorated the kitchen table with the books and these little toadstool mushrooms. I learned this year that these mushrooms that are in all of the cute fairy tales are actually very poisonous! In Series of Unfortunate Events, there is a deadly mushroom called Medusoid Mycelium. These red poisonous mushroom represent the toxic make-believe mushroom from the show!

While we are on it, I bought stamps and made my own napkins because, if they don’t sell it or you can’t find it, you have to DIY! I bought a round larger frame stamp and then the seperate toadstool stamp. Make sure to buy the good stamping ink: waterproof, smear resistant! I used this one. You don’t want a bunch of people wiping ink on to their mouths and hands! I use the right ink and I’ve never had a problem.

This set up it missing 4 amazing little white ceramic houses from Target’s one spot with orange and red paper flames coming out of the windows and chimneys. It’s from the show and ties in many ways, and it went awesome with the set up and color scheme, but, it ain’t in these pics, y’all.

I LOVED this part of the party and couldn’t wait for my daughter to see it! The theme song shows a board just like this where they link the characters to count Olaf with yarn as the show plays. I printed pictures of each of our party guests and the birthday girl and made a clue board just like the opener. I just used a foam board wrapped in newspaper that I taped down and the rest is obvious!

Lachrymose Leeches! There are two people that die in the series because of the Lachrymose Leeches so I made these gummies one of their movie snacks. To make these food labels, I googled the leeches from the show on an image search and found this picture. I took this picture and uploaded it into Zazzle and made custom stickers. HOWEVER, I didn’t get them on time so I took a screenshot of the stickers I made and printed them out like 4 by 6 photos and then hand-cut them out and taped them to toothpicks. The show must go on.

I printed a Lemony Snicket quote from an image search and put it in this cute Ikea frame. It was perfect all around, homies.

The whole series of Series of Unfortunate Events centers around the Baudelaire orphans and Count Olaf trying to “adopt” the children to gain access to their fortune. I made these little labels the same way I made the leech labels and hot glued them on. I bought plain white dessert cups from Hobby Lobby like these here and filled them chocolate coins, a million dollar chocolate bar and a ring pop. This, and the leeches, were their movie snacks and, of course, we watched the show as well!

Okay, so these are happy little sunshine cookies with bows….and fangs. There is a character named Sunny and she is a little baby girl with some sharp old teeth. Get it…sunshine…Sunny…..

I don’t know why I didn’t order an actual baby face with fangs, but these were super cute and delish! Mackin’ Made nailed the picture I sent her exactly and just added in a nice set of fangs on each one.

“Look Away” is the title of the theme song and I don’t want to throw anyone for any loops, but I also made theses custom stickers myself on Zazzle with the help of the Word Swag app. You are welcome for that awesome hack!

Zazzle + Word Swag= Party Dreams

Admittedly, this cute turned out, how you say, super ugly. I drew a diagram and color coded it. I use to make cakes and I draw fairly well so it was specific. Usually I love this bakery, but they are in the middle of the move and well, this cake. Let me explain it though. The aforementioned Medusoid Mycelium is a deadly mushroom that has a few cures in the book and one of these cures is the sugar bowl. The cake IS designed to look just like the sugar bowl and the top of the cake is the spy glass symbol for the VFD. I’ve been pretty committed to explaining most things in the post but it’s getting late so you will just have to google VFD if the suspense is killing you.

The top of the cake reads “Happy Unfortunate Birthday” which is similar to the wording on her invites.

This is not a fancy OR complete table for that matter, however, I wanted to show the black viper snake silhouette I made on the kitchen island. The viper is significant in several episodes so I pictured this for a table and simply cut it out of a black poster board.

Hope you like this unfortunate party for 13 rowdy 8 and 9 year olds!

Mall Birthday Party

22nd April 2019

*Affiliate links appear in post

This year I wanted to channel my creativity to the location and type of party versus all the detailed set up and, let me just say, I loved this party! Of all of the birthday parties that I have thrown, this mall party has to be one of the most low stress, fun, simple and affordable party of them all! Many of the girls that came to my girl’s party said that they wanted their next party to be at the mall so I think that’s what we call success!

The venue is free and the fun is built in and very inexpensive. You will love having a mall party as a parent and your child will LOVE it just as much, or more, than you!

Read on to see what all we did, how much we paid for the whole she’bang, where I bought some of the details, or how I made some of what you see here!

Buy these cute credit card invites from DigiDoodling on Etsy to edit and print at home for only $5.35!

The invites were cute as is, BUT I really wanted them to be even more realistic so I bought these self- laminating sheets made for credit card sized cards! I had my daughter sign the backs of the cards before sealing them and they were so easy to use! I trimmed the edges down to eliminate too much overhang and they were really stinkin’ cute! You can find them on Amazon here.

I have to throw in the shirt detail. I always find a cheap and easy way to make my kids a custom birthday shirt. I grabbed a glitter flecked Cat and Jack shirt from Target on sale for 5 dollars and a rhinestone iron-on number from Hobby Lobby for 2 bucks and some change and bingo! So easy, so cheap and she really thought it was special! I thought the glitter was good for a girly-girl type of party like this one, too.

We started things off with the good ole’ carousel! For 15 dollars, 8 kids could take a ride AND I earned a free ride at a later date because the 8 riders filled up one punch card to get a free ride next time!

We hit up Claire’s and I took advantage of the buy 3, get 3 free deal. For 34 dollars, I got 7 packs (added one extra) of jewelry that the girls helped pick out and every girl got one bracelet, one choker necklace and one ring of their choice! We were left with jewelry to spare!

For barely over 20 bucks, each girl picked out a jar at Candy Craze and filled them to the top! The price included the jars plus candy.

I gave the girls a choice between Candy Craze and the Spider Jump! Three of these little ladies wanted to jump so for 21 dollars, we had 3 jumpers.

The play center at the mall is free, of course, so yay! Even though this picture doesn’t end the post, it’s how we ended the party and the parents came and picked up their children from there. I set up our table right next to the play place to make it easy.

These little sequin coin purses are available on Amazon as well as the half pound bag of chocolate coins that I put in each purse. I tried to make them like real purses with “money” and Lip Smackers. Even though some girls had candy jars and all of the guests got jewelry from Claire’s, I still wanted them all to take home a little something extra and that’s where these guys came in. I bought a 7 pack for $7.39! Find them here.

These perfect little plates are awesome for a mall party, slumber party, spa party, etc. I bought them from Mighty Dollar, my favorite dollar store! I always get my throw away tablecloths from dollar stores as well.

One of my favorite ideas that I do for cupcake toppers is using pictures of people or, in this case, logos! I simple screenshot the images and then printed them like regular photos at my local Walgreens and cut them out at home! Tape them on toothpicks and, you done girl!!!

How cute are these receipt thank yous?! You can buy the template on Etsy from SIMONEmadeit for just $2.50 and edit and print them yourself at home! I like to take pictures of my party girl with each guest during gift time and mail the them as thank yous! This year they included these receipts. LOVE!

THIS ENTIRE PARTY and everything in it from plates, invites, food, activities, EVERYTHING was 153! You can’t even rent a party location for that and that is without any food, favors, activities, food, party goods, invites….just the rental, if you are lucky, will be 150!

Pin, share and enjoy and by all means, HAVE A MALL PARTY!

Creative Space Party Ideas

18th February 2019

I love this theme, but I ain’t gonna talk to you about it. We all know we all just come to these posts for pics and not commentary! I could type paragraphs here about how cats love bananas or how I ate a kangaroo for dinner. No one would ever know. So with that, I bring you awesome ideas and the sources of the awesomer people who created these things!

Pin, share, enjoy and follow me! Love you guys, you little ballers.

Blippi Birthday Party

16th August 2018

If you don’t know who Blippi is, he is a YouTuber who makes fun educational videos for kiddos.  They don’t have Blippi party supplies yet so if you do a Blippi party, everything basically stems from his outfit, color scheme of his outfit, and some details from the show that your child loves…in our case….diggers and construction vehicles! And…I was supposed to only do cupcakes and family so…nailed it?

I turned the kid’s table into Blippi’s costume with streamer suspenders and a giant felt bow tie and felt buttons.  Why?  Because felt is a gift from the crafting gods.

I WISH you could have seen the floating glasses in person because I just couldn’t capture it well in pictures.  Boooooo.  I used fishing line to hang cheap plastic glasses in and around the balloons and they just looked like they were floating!  I used an old bag of cheap plastic sunglasses from Amazon, busted out the lenses, broke off the arms, and spray painted them orange!  I was probably my favorite thing.  Maybe.

Mighty Dollar came correct with napkins and plates in construction theme!  Blippi has songs about all sorts of construction vehicles and it makes Crosby’s heart beat to the sound of dirt, rock and engines.  Cheap and perfect for this party….this party that I swore would only be cupcakes and nothing else.

Blippi wears an orange bow tie, therefore, so did all of our forks with orange napkins tied with ribbon.

Now these cars, trucks, etc.  were the best thing to ever sit on a cupcake to these kids.  They are actually small pullback toys and not cupcake toppers so they got to each take home a few of these small toys.  I got the whole pack of these pullbacks on Amazon for under 10 dollars.  HOLLLERRRRRR! And it still went with the theme soooooo, I’m excited. You could use these cars and construction vehicles for a ton of different parties too, from Easter egg hunts at Easter shindigs, pinatas, or loads of little boy (or girl) party themes.

Okay so truthfully, maybe this is my favorite thing and the floating glasses second.  Since there are no such thing as Blippi cake toppers, I screenshotted images of him on Bing and sent them to Walgreens from my good ole celluar device.  I printed 4 of each image and cut them out, turning them into cupcake toppers.  The huge dancing Blippi is funny to make and I loved having a huge topper because usually, they are tiny old things.

I made his party hat with leftovers of things I had: leftover hat, extra felt from making the table decor, and a small strip of streamer.  I mean……

50 cent suckers from Walmart in Blippi colors.  All. Day. Long.

“So much to learn about, it’ll make you want to shout….BLIPPI!”

Pin, share, enjoy!  Thanks, yall!

Chocolate Party

4th June 2018

*affiliate links appear in this post

Soooooo it was a chocolate party this year for my sweet newly 4 year old! Last year, she had a ketchup and french fry party and wanted to play it close to the food game again with a chocolate party.  I figured this party had been done a thousand times and every where on Pinterest and strangely, naw girl.  Take a gander of this party!  Hopefully it will inspire someone else who fancies chocolate as much as my girl does.  (Like me….for example.)

I borrowed tons of things and got a load of stuff from the dollar store!  You can rock this party, or any of it’s details, on a budget!

“Real food” hot fudge slime was the prize from a scratch-off game the kids played!  Looks like hot fudge, smells like hot fudge, packaged like hot fudge but it’s not.  I bought cute clear favor boxes, filled them with chocolate brown paper shred and my favorite…made bows from Hershey wrappers!  I sliced the back seam of a chocolate bar off, removed the chocolate, (ate it…both of them…none of your business), and tied the center with some small white rope trim.  Holler if you hear me.

I bought these scratch off game cards from Target in the one spot aisle months ago.  I didn’t have a purpose for them yet, but homie, I was about to find a way.  I bought a brown sharpie and added chocolate topping and sprinkles to take it from an ice cream party to a chocolate themed party treat.  Easy, cheap, cute and, again,  did I say easy?

I love to customize invites and typically, I look to Etsy but I just couldn’t find anything I was crazy about.  Zazzle is another great site to make or customize anything under the sun and I found these precious invites there!  I got them on a site wide sell for 40 percent off so yeah, I was super happy!

Alert the media!  I made these cupcake toppers last minute by just jabbing candy with a toothpick or plopping a chocolate covered pretzel on top of the yummy marshmallow frosting.  How cute did they turn out????!!!!

One of my first “visions” for this party was creating drip tablecloths.  I bought brown, round tablecloths and cut the drips into the cloths AFTER I put them on.  I would estimate that each table took me 10 to 15 minutes. Not too bad and was PERFECT for the theme.  As always, these are just dollar store tablecloths.  Can’t beat it.  I’m trying to be creative, not Martha lol.

I purchased a jumbo paper craft 4 from Hobby Lobby, painted it and used fine glitter and glue to cover it in “chocolate”.  Supercalafragalisticexpealldohshish.

Etsy did pull through major on these party favor boxes! These came from Paper Glitter on Etsy.  If you want to get some for yourself, just click on their name and I linked it there! I printed them off at a family member’s office and purchased the whole file with several different type of drink box favor files for only 5 bucks!  I folded each of them to construct them and wasn’t as tedious as you would think.  I hot glued them all together to hold their form because hot glue is the gift from the heavens of crafts.  You can totally use double-sided tape though.

Each box had a few chocolates and these dollar store chocolate scented and flavored chapsticks.  When I found theses guys, I was so excited and bought 11!  The boy favor boxes had chocolate drizzled characters that you squeeze and their eyes pop out because, you know, boys.

We had to have chocolate milk at this party, of course.  I wish these were cheaper, but I just couldn’t pour milk from a gallon like some sort of party barbarian.  I needed the cute cartons for decorations.  #should’vegonetoSam’s

Mixing bowls, foil, ribbon and scrapbooking letter stickers = giant Hershey kiss decorations!

I should take this time to tell you that Mendel rhymes with spindle.  You know, just in case you said MenDELL and a piece of me died inside.

Little plastic paint palettes make the world’s cutest tray for cupcake toppings! You can get a 12 pack for under 9 bucks! There was no cake at the party; just a stand and decorate your cupcake tables.  My girl would decorate it, lick off the toppings and redecorate it.  Work. the. system.

Hope you liked this chocolate goodness! Follow me on my social media accounts and on here for more ways to put on those party pants!

Disney Zombies Party

8th May 2018

Disney Zombies movie has been a huge hit, but it’s so new, there is nothing available! While character and movies arent exactly my favorite themes….I figured I’d help someone out in my boat and share my ideas. Let’s start with my favorite part: cheerleader blow pop suckers! Play up the cheer theme side for easier DIYs. These suckers were little party favors and they are awesome! Get a bag of Blow Pops, pipe cleaners, ribbon, a bag of pompoms, and hot glue and gurllllll, you good!

For display, I got this super cheap cake pop stand from Hobby Lobby for less than 4 bucks.  They were a booger and a half to make stand up because they were top heavy so I ended up hot gluing them into the holes. Next time, I’ll buy a real deal cake pop stand because there are some awesome ones out there.

ALWAYS look on Etsy for hard to find theme items.  Disney Zombies is so new so there is next to nothing you can find in this theme.  Etsy never fails and pulled through with this edible cake image.  You can also customize it as well to add names etc.  I bought mine from funtoppers4cakes on Etsy.  It was less than 10 bucks all in and ANYONE can put these babies on.

This candleabra candle holder does something joyful to my eyeballs.  I purchased it on clearance a few years ago from Target and then was lucky enough to run across a few more for a dollar each on double clearance!  I love it because it is perfect for princess parties to tweens and teens.  It makes my heart sing.  Walmart has a cheaper version you can buy right now in their party aisle.

Again, Disney Zombies is heavy with the cheerleading deets so anything cheer will do for a Zombies party.  I used a one dollar plastic tablecloth, cut it in strips, tied them to a ribbon and made them into pompoms to hang.  Cheap and I didn’t have to search for the right color pompoms because I made my own!

GREEN hairspray for the win for the Zombie theme.  This stuff was great and didn’t transfer on to anything.  It washes out with shampoo.  I bought mine at Walmart in the party aisle for just a few bucks each.

We did a DIY candy necklace bar because I LOVED it as an activity for my 2nd daughter’s Lalaloopsy party last year.  I am always down for an activity that can also second as a take home party favor! It has nothing to do with Zombies, but it’s the cutest party activity on planet earth.

This is so simple, but sometimes, even details people need a breather, haha. Eventually, kids ask for a movie/character party and well…so be it! Party on, Wayne. Party on, Garth.

Lochness Monster Party: Her Party Pants Original

14th August 2017

I geeked out big time on this party with word play and details that doubled for my son’s birthday and the existence of Nessie.  Rarely do I geek out…this was full on geek.  I prefer ganster rap, but every blue moon, I get nerdy….

I loved doing this party, aka the first one I’ve ever done for a son!  I did a little party for my friend’s son (Food Fight Party), but other than that, this is the only other boy shindig I’ve ever done.

I for real believe in the Lochness Monster, but don’t let that run you off.  You have to at least believe in him for 5 seconds with me.  Come on, it’s magical.

For those of you that don’t know, Lochness is a sea dinosaur that has been spotted hundreds of times over decades from Scottish locals around the Lochness Strait, to tourists, to images from Goggle Earth.  It’s basically my favorite mystery.

Check this party out, buddy.

I drew these Lochness guys freehand on scrapbook paper while looking at shilouette images on-line.  I was pretty proud of them, because even though I am somewhat artistic, the more life-like, the harder.  And for an even sweeter detail?  Read the caption on the picture below!

I wasn’t sure if anyone would say anything about me using a gold glitter banner for a boy’s birthday, but since my son can’t talk or have opinions….gold glitter it was!  I had this custom made from Contagious Events on Etsy.  The quality was great and I love the black and white baker’s twine it came with that the letters hung on.  HIgh five team, Contagious Events.

I was super giddy at how the “so happy you exist” idea was perfect for a birthday and for believing in Lochness.  I’m not gonna lie. I stole it from a greeting card.  Good job, whoever you are who thought to put that on a card with a creature like this.  You win today’s favorite person award!

If this cake doesn’t give you all the monster feels, than you must not have feels.  I drew a detailed color diagram of the cake that I wanted for 3 reasons:

1- I am a past cake decorator and I have a specific vision for my cakes.

2- It’s the only way to almost guarantee you get what you want!  I recommend drawing your orders if you can if it is a cake you are creating.  If not, definitely bring a good picture of what you want.

3- I’m a dork about cakes.  Here is one I made for my daughter’s 1st birthday party many moons ago.  But let’s get back to Nessie…

This cake was made by Sweet Temptations, a local bakery in my hometown that I use for all of my cakes when I can’t muster the strength to make one…which is almost always.

The detail on the face was a million times above and beyond what I had hoped for.  I drew the most simple Lochness head of all fondant times.  I ADORED this little guy!

I deserted the “Happy Birthday” for “Love You A LOCH”….get it….wordplay….fun for days.  And don’t miss the tail detail on the side of the cake there.  LOVE!

These Target plates by Cheeky were perfect for my party because not only was the color scheme correct, it looked like waves/Nessie hump.

DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’

AND my favorite….

I NEVER LOOK GOOD IN PHOTOS

Ha ha, get it…people are always trying to get good pictures of him….

I found some Lochness stamps on Etsy at  The Crafty Carvery .  They were very fast and 3 cheers for them providing something unique!  The Lochness was whimisical enough to add some childlikeness to this 1 year old birthday party.

Using waterproof inking pads, I stamped Nessie and each sentence individually.  It actually doesn’t take that long and after I made my own napkins with stamps for the fiesta baby shower I just threw, it’s become a love of mine!  Whenever you can, go custom!  Keep it original!

In case you missed it above, and I can’t allow you to, “I never look good in photos” is what these high five napkins say.

I found this Lochness figure (Elasmaosaurus) on Amazon and made him appear to float in the chocolate milk for the kids.  It looked like he was right at home in his lake water.

Somebody call the doctor!  I’m going to have a stroke for these little favors I gave to the guests. I bought these little glass candy jars from Amazon and spray painted the lids to be color appropriate. It took less than 5 minutes to get them all coated and finished sooooooo that is pretty super.  I purchased these stickers that I used on the side of the jars from my favorite custom, has anything you want site: Zazzle.  This image is of the famous scam picture taken many moons ago that became famous.  I know that because I’ll give you a hint about me and Lochness and it rhymes with…week.  No, it’s not that I’m on fleek.  But this party might be…

These super sweet jars hold 5 Hershey Kisses and the stickers on the bottoms with my son’s face, hold about all of my dreams! I found them at Silly Wise Kids  on Etsy.  This shop offers several face customizable party products.  I thought it was an unexpected and fun little detail!

I simply cut the huge letters out of gold poster board that i laid vertical for extra height.  If you aren’t too good at free-handing, and trust me, I didn’t want to freehand these, I have a stellar tip. Go with a pencil in hand to Hobby Lobby to purchase your poster board and while you are there, go get some of their huge wall letters and trace them on to your poster before you buy the poster.  I meant to but I left my pencil, because something always goes wrong when I go on kid free errands.  Truth.

The Nessie details I cut out of left over scrapbook paper from the Lochness famiy I made for the backdrop.

The kid’s table was sooooo much fun!  A grass tablecloth underneath a blue flowing water tablecloth, which is just a plastic one I cut a bunch of curves into. This grass cloth here is really a heavy plastic lined printed one from Party City, but I really wanted a textured grass one like this one here on Amazon.  It is technically a rug but thin enough to be on a table.

Last but definitely not least, I bought a Styrofoam cake dummy, cut it in half, and spray painted it to make look like humps coming out of the water.  When this idea hit me, I couldn’t wait to find something to make the humps with and these cake rounds were perfect! I bought my cake dummy from Hobby Lobby, but you can buy one just like it here on Amazon for 9 bucks and some change.

I used plastic tablecloths to turn the adult tables into huge Scottish flags.  Hip hip hooray!

If this balloon garland doesn’t change your life, nothing will.  I don’t want to throw anyone for any curve balls here, but I had the colors customized and ordered it from Twigs and Twirls LLC on Etsy.  In my heart, I hoped it never deflated, but in real life, my kids ripped it apart after the party and had a blast with it.  I love this Etsy shop/site and I will use them again for a party source!

Since Lochness is all about sightings, I used the stamps I used for the napkins and stamped 45 of these critters and cut them out to hide around the room.  Whoever gathered the most sightings, won a Target gift card!

“You’re my favorite Monster” so sweet for a 1st brithday!  This is a tiny bag I stamped and stuffed for the prize for the Lochness sightings game.

Just like for my daughter’s Ketchup and French Fry Party and my oldest’s Diaversary party, I bought a custom party shirt for the person of honor which was this little man this time.  I bought this shirt from Zazzle, one of my 2 favorite custom sites.

This just in:  he’s been caught!  I knew I was right.

Happy birthday my sweet boy!

Fiesta Baby Shower

24th July 2017

Hey, girl, hayyyyyyy!  Check out this Fiesta Baby Shower for my sis-in-law this weekend!  Fiesta is a theme you have heard of but, not as common for a baby shower.  I love the bright colors and, obviously, the food.  The colorful theme is perfect for anyone who is hosting for someone who is having a rainbow baby (a baby after the loss of a baby).

I love all of these details and I put a source list for you at the end so you can see where I got everything. Ole, y’all!

Pin, share, and enjoy!

Nacho bar, fruit, and churros for dessert!  Small, simple menu that is on point with the theme.  Who doesn’t like Mexican food?!  Monsters, only I’m sure.

Believe it or not, that is 100 churros!  100 delicious foot long crispy, sugary goodness.  No cake for this party, just churros alll the way.  Make it more fabulous with ice cream and chocolate drizzle.  Another bonus is that it only cost 50 bucks for 100 churros!  This was in place of a cake/cupcakes and a decorated cake for 40 would have easily been 65 plus!  It saved money and spiced up the old traditional shower cake theme.

Do you love this M I made?  AHHHHHHH, I have a post just for this guy for tomorrow.  I was thinking for a week about what I could use at the centerpiece and when I thought of making this, I knew it would cute, unique and affordable!  AND this runner underneath, going across the food table?  I could have bought a serape for the table for a range of prices depending on where I bought one from and it would’ve been cute, for sure.  HOWEVER, how PERFECT does this tasseled rag rug under the centerpiece for a runner?!! AND guess what: 5 dollars from Five Below, a dollar store.

The kid’s table was ballin’ hard and out of control.  Too bad kids actually sat there because it was super pretty.

Is there anything more fabulous than these Spanish canned goods as vases? NO.  I used 2 sizes and you can see where to buy them on the source list.  These are real canned goods….not decor jars/vases.

These guys are a given.  You can buy them customized with words of your choice on Etsy.  Add the baby’s name to the banner or get ones that have “baby shower” cut out of some panels with baby theme designs.

If you can’t find a napkin you want….you make it!  I used waterproof ink so when the guests were wiping their faces, they wouldn’t be dragging pink all over the place.

I put these fans in the window above the kid’s table because nothing says cha cha cha quite like these colorful fans.  Maybe.
