Christmas Tree Christmas Card Display

24th December 2020

I found this glorious Christmas wall decor at the promise land, Ikea, in Tampa. It was actually used as an advent calendar in the store, but I decided to fill with Christmas cards instead. I’ve always wanted a streamlined and cool way to display cards and when I saw this wall tree, I heard angels and rainbows in my eardrums. I told me husband that even if I had to tape this tree on my back, it was getting on the dang plane with me. As you can see, I won in passenger versus airplane carry-on limitations.

Do you love this?! Ahhhhhhh, Merry Christmas and thanks for all the Christmas cards, homies.

Creative Christmas Gift Packaging

19th December 2020

I am in love with gifting in unique ways. This year I made a few different versions of ornament packaging and DIY gingerbread house boxes that I posted on my Instagram. Sets your corneas on these!

I am a private dyslexia tutor and gave this fun pom ornament to as student as a gift for completing a level in the program/Merry Christmas. The sucker is a cupcake topper which was perfect because it gave it natural height.

I went to a favorite things party for homeschool moms from our campus and I brought my handmade gingerbread house boxes and with my favorite nut butter from Gone Nuts. (And no, no one wore clogs with socks and denim skirts to the homeschool party. I almost wore a Biggie sweatshirt. Homeschool: It’s not just for Pilgrims anymore.)

I bought these large globe ornaments from Hobby Lobby and they came in a 2 pack. I’m not a magician. They come in two separate pieces that snap together. You can use blanket or loose snow and these bottle brush trees are what started it all for me. I’m a sucker for a bottle brush tree!

As a tip, loose snow is easier! Just hot glue the trees, figures, gift cards, etc. into the placements that you want, fill up one half while it lays on its back, and then snap the two parts together. I love the way they turned out and it’s cooler way to gift a gift card. Merrryyyyy Christmas!!!!!!

Gift Card Ornament Packaging

25th December 2019

Sometimes people hate on gift cards, but I love them. No shame! I love to package them in cute ways and this idea is cute AND cheap. All my frugal ladies….all the frugal ladies….
– Beyonce

These clear ball ornaments are available year round in the wood craft and glass jar aisle at Hobby Lobby. You can score one for a little over a dollar! Just hot glue a line to the bottom of the ornament and affix the gift card. Hot glue peels off with zero effort from the card so once again, hot glue is the world’s best.

I bought a bag of styrofoam snow for a dollar from the Dollar Tree and I filled several little gifts with one small bag.

I hot glued on some leaf sprigs and added poms and twine and that’s all folks! Hope y’all are having a Merry Christmas!

DIY Pom Christmas Cupcake Topper

20th December 2019

Materials:

Glitter Cardstock

Hot glue gun

Poms in assorted colors and sizes

Thin ribbon

Toothpicks

Pencil

Aren’t these the cutest?! I made these for my daughter’s kindergarten class because 5 year olds really appreciate DIY 😂.

These are as simple as cutting out your design and hot gluing on the poms. It really doesn’t get easier!

If you aren’t too hot with drawing, just use a stencils or cookie cutter to trace your shapes. For my wreath circle, I traced a pill bottle. So easy.

I love how these turned out and I hope they inspired you to make some of your own 😊

Merry Christmas!!!

DIY Christmas Gnome Tree Topper

16th December 2019

Is this the cutest Christmas gnome ever?! My daughter made these years ago at school and I loved them and couldn’t find them on Pinterest anywhere! So what do I do? Make them myself and show them to you. They weren’t intended to be tree toppers, but when I see this guy I’m like, “Get your butt up on the tree right now.”

Materials:

Toilet Paper Roll

Hot Glue Gun

Scissors

Felt

Poms

One Cotton Ball

Just a few dollars of supplies will make tons of these fellas!

Assuming that you have a standard toilet paper roll, cut a rectangle out of felt that is 4 inches by 6 1/2 inches. Wrap your rectangle around the toilet paper roll and secure it with hot glue.

Next, you’ll cut a second rectangle to make the gnome hat and you will cut it to the same dimensions as above. Once it is cut, you will then need to fold it in and secure it in to a cone shape like seen below.

After you have made his little cone hat, now you need to attach it on the gnome, but first, add your nose and cotton ball beard.

Glue the pom to the top center of the toilet paper roll where the top of the nose lines up flush to the edge of the roll.

Next, take your cotton ball and slowly work it and stretch it with your fingers carefully in to a beard shape. I took a second little piece of the beard and made it sort of like a little mustache on mine. Once you are done, hot glue your beard down under and touching the beard.

Now for the grand finale….gluing on the hat! If notice, the sides of the hats come down fairly far on both sides of the beard as shown below. The hat should be angled to where it hangs down over where the eyes would be and slightly coming down over top of the nose.

Once you have found your perfect angle, glue that sucker down, please.

Poof. Bang. Yesssssss! Make them in any color and do a fun tablescape with little gnomes, attach them to a gift, or use them as a tree topper like me! Look at him. You love him, right?

Rap Theme Christmas Party

9th December 2019

Listen, I am going to start off by saying that a rap party is my dream party. I wanted to throw myself a rap party for my birthday but couldn’t so, rap Christmas was born! Ho ho ho, players.

Few people love rap as much as me. I’d play some Christian rap at my funeral in a heartbeat. Tell me I’m lyin’…. Some of y’all are gonna want to come to that party too now. Everyone’s invited.

I hope that Biggie, Pac, and Jay really get your heart in the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas, y’all. It ain’t nothin’ but a Christmas party.

Source for this Tupac file: SaraLuDesign on Etsy

What would you do if someone handed you one of these guys to invite you to a party? I handed them to myself a few times to act like someone was inviting me to my own party because…..I mean…..rap Christmas.

They are actually rapper Christmas cards that I used as party invites and they were everything I wanted! You can find them here:

Tupac and Snoop: YeaOhGreetings on Etsy

Biggie Claus: MakemTakem on Etsy

Number one: Did I wrinkle this red paper runner in to lines on purpose so I could write straight? Answer: No, my 5 year old stepped on the roll of paper and it was all I had left. See, now you know why I call Her Party Pants “realistic Pinterest”. In real homes at real parties, kids be ruining your set up and all that mess.

Number two: Couldn’t you have just gone to the store and bought more? Answer: This is getting really personal.

Number three: Tupac had a song called “Dear Mama” that said, “Dear Mama, You are appreciated.” That’s the last thing I have to say about my serving table runner.

These amazing cupcake toppers came from JazzNJayCreations on Etsy and I was so excited about getting these! They are one of my favorite things that I used for the party.

I’m real happy to see you in my dessert, Jay Z. 90’s and early 2000 Jay Z is probably my favorite rapper ever. Good job, Jay.

I hope you guys really like the cassette tapes on this tree because some real-life 90s karaoke tapes of mine were painted for this event. I added gold chain, which I bought by the roll at Hobby Lobby. I bet you didn’t know Hobby Lobby had some gangster in it’s life but, you’d be real wrong.

I added the Busta ornaments because nothing screams I love 90s rap and Christmas like Busta Rhymes. If he doesn’t make you holler “Merry Christmas and I love this rap party”, then you probably hate the holidays. It’s a guess.

I made this ornament by ripping one of the heads off of my cupcake toppers from JazzNJayCreations on Etsy and then hot gluing some string on the back.

I made this ornament by ripping the face off of one of my rapper cupcake topper sticks that I had in the desserts I served. I saved this rapper for the tree to spice things up a bit.

Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. These are called Hiphopsicles and they are as magical as you are feeling like they are right now.

This is how I decorated myself. This is a real gold chain. You are so welcome. I ordered this shirt from Zazzle and if you don’t know where this wording comes from….you might not like this party near as much as me.

That’s right. Happy HOLLABAES. This is getting wonderful. I bought the card stock and had my friend use her machine to the cut the letters for me. I jumbled the letters all up so she wouldn’t know what I was spelling so she couldn’t guess the theme lol. Surprise you stinkin’ little hollabae cutter!

This picture is missing two, but these are some extra special homies who I invited as people who would appreciate this kind of 90s rapper’s dream come true.

I used stiff felt and a big ole’ one dollar ornament from Mighty Dollar to make these holly and berry pieces. They were so easy and I loved them big time.

Garland I already owned? Check. A pack of hunnit dolla bills for one dollar? Also, check. Easy table centerpiece? You bet your momma check.

I made all of these mugs myself and everyone got to take one home! I got the mugs from Mighty Dollar and they are actually heavy and substantial!

Using an oil-based Sharpie marker, I whipped up these up. (Any by “whipped” I mean like an hour and a half of wiping them off with alcohol and starting again.

Started from the bottom now we deer... That is a phrase from one of YeaOhGreetings cards where I bought two of my “invites” from.

Help you with your cuh-reer” I made up and it was one of my favorites. Get it…Mrs. Clause….with Santa….Lizzo….help you with your cuh-reer….

All the Jingle Ladies I have seen before and Beyonce isn’t a rapper, but her husband is soooooooooo I’ll take it!

Will I live to be twenty fo’? The way things is goin’, I don’t know. I also came up with this scene of the snowmen falling down and with the help of these Coolio lyrics, all was right in the world.

fa la la OKURRRRRR..….Well, I didn’t invent fa la la and Cardi B says OKURRR, but I put this together as a fun holiday recipe.

Snow Torious….that’s obvious right? Please say yes….

I’ve been wanting to use a gold chain necklace for two years now. Welcome home, friend. You’re safe now.

I added a dollar sign that I cut out of glitter card stock because it needed that extra-baller flare. Flare is a word all the rappers use these days.

If you need a chain link balloon in your life, they aren’t cheap because they are purchased link by link, but you can find them tons of places on Etsy.

I bought these cheetah cuffed stocking from, drum roll please…..Dollar Tree. Sorry if that threw someone off with the Dollar Store bit and my parties. Below is what all I put in them.

You read those chips right: Rap Snacks. It’s like the universe was saying, “Hey, I want you to really do this party.” I got them on 70 percent off clearance from Spirit Halloween for 50 cents a bag! I walked up to the counter with a big arm full and said, “I bet you were wondering who was going to buy all of these. It’s me.” True story.

Fun fact: They are actually really stinkin’ good. I legit may order some more of the the Little Yachty’s Hot Cheese Fries.

You can get the chocolate money bars from lots of places. I got these from Hobby Lobby, but I also saw them at the Dollar Tree.

I made these ornaments for each friend at my party and took a home in the winter and the word homie and just really had a time with it. Yee haw. I thought they turned out cute though.

Fun Fact: I threw one in the trash because I didn’t like the way it turned out. Then, I used it anyways. Calm down, calm down, it was on the top.

Each chalkboard ornament came from Michael’s and they were half-off for 2 dollars each!

I also made the tags on Zazzle. It’s a Jay Z line from a song.

I put both of these games together and it was so much fun! Below, you see some rappers laughing during Scattergories. Not posed. Rap Scattergories is just that fun. Rap and Scattergories merge my two favorite things!

Also, my handwriting on those posters are booty. Again, my website is “realistic Pinterest”. In real life, people have crappy handwriting. Be encouraged.

The winner got a gift card to Starbucks. See what I did there? Do you know what made her win the whole game? Well, it was the best answer in Scattergories history. The letter was M and the field to fill out was “line from a rap song” and she put, “Mind on my money and my money on my mind”. Mic drop. That’s a lotta Ms y’all.

That’s a wrap! I hope I made your Christmas just a little more gangster….

the way it should be.

Merry Hollabaes, friends!

Reindeer Brownies

12th December 2018

Same story, different chapter!  First came the Hershey Bar Reindeer and then came along the Cosmic Brownie Reindeer!  I bought the poms, googly eyes and stick on antlers from Hobby Lobby for 50 percent off.  The foam adhesive antlers were actually part of a multi-pack foam reindeer craft and it was so cheap and so easy to use these pre-made antlers.  Mamma said, “All day long.” I also saw these on Pinterest and while I try to post purely my own ideas, I thought some other moms out there would appreciate 2 easy, Christmas appropriate class treats for all of those school parties out there!

Heirloom Vintage Jewelry Christmas Tree

10th December 2018

*Affiliate links appear in this post*

If you don’t think this is beautiful, your eyeballs are broken. Do you know what this is??? My friend Emily’s husband has this from his grandmother and it’s made from all of her jewelry made by her! Oh my goodness! WHAT A KEEPSAKE/FAMILY HEIRLOOM! What an amazing way to pass on something personal and with so much character. This is so priceless! I wish I had one and now I plan to make them from my mom and mother in laws special things, fabrics and jewelry.

You can make this easily by purchasing an unfinished Christmas tree wood piece from a craft store and painting the color of your choice. Then lay out your jewelry design and lift up edges and secure each piece by piece with hot glue or super glue. I prefer hot glue almost always for everything! Don’t feel crafty and don’t want to meet with painting a piece or finding an unfinished Christmas tree pattern? No problem! Buy a wooden Christmas tree from the home decor section at your store of choice and cover it in jewelry. Tis’ the season to find about a million tree options and hey, they are almost all about to be clearanced out! Another cute twist on this idea would be to get a large wood slice, wood wreath form or unfinished wood circle from your local craft store and make an ornate jewelry wreath!

Here are some options you could use to make a tree:
unfinished one foot tall wooden tree
Above is available in larger sizes as well.  Just paint and remove star if desired.  Add wall hangers to make it wall decor!
unfinished wood tree in different style, available from 6 inches to 2 ft. tall
nested plank trees (Remove the stand if desired and paint.)
barnwood tree (Remove wreath and star)
large wood slice to make jewelry wreath

Find someone who you know could start this project, whether it’s a parent, grandparent or a child who has old keepsake jewelry from a loved one.  What a gorgeous and special heirloom to pass on for generations of things your loved one once wore and loved! It beats sitting in a box! Thanks to my friend, Emily, for this beautiful picture and for letting me share this treasure!

Hershey Bar Reindeer

6th December 2018

I saw a few of these guys on Pinterest (iheartartsncrafts.com) and decided it would be the perfect Christmas treat for my Hershey lovin’ daughter’s preschool class.  I got all of the candy bars and candy canes from Aldi for really cheap and the pom noses and googly eyes from Hobby Lobby for 50 percent off.  So basically, I am like a money ninja. And don’t you love the eye-lashed googlies for the girls in her class?  I can’t hear what you said, but I feel like you said you loved them.

I used hot glue to attach all of the pieces to the candy bar and surprisingly, they didn’t melt the candy.  It is like Hershey witchcraft.  I gave each glue blob a little blow before I attached them so maybe that helped.
