Blippi Birthday Party

16th August 2018

If you don’t know who Blippi is, he is a YouTuber who makes fun educational videos for kiddos.  They don’t have Blippi party supplies yet so if you do a Blippi party, everything basically stems from his outfit, color scheme of his outfit, and some details from the show that your child loves…in our case….diggers and construction vehicles! And…I was supposed to only do cupcakes and family so…nailed it?

I turned the kid’s table into Blippi’s costume with streamer suspenders and a giant felt bow tie and felt buttons.  Why?  Because felt is a gift from the crafting gods.

I WISH you could have seen the floating glasses in person because I just couldn’t capture it well in pictures.  Boooooo.  I used fishing line to hang cheap plastic glasses in and around the balloons and they just looked like they were floating!  I used an old bag of cheap plastic sunglasses from Amazon, busted out the lenses, broke off the arms, and spray painted them orange!  I was probably my favorite thing.  Maybe.

Mighty Dollar came correct with napkins and plates in construction theme!  Blippi has songs about all sorts of construction vehicles and it makes Crosby’s heart beat to the sound of dirt, rock and engines.  Cheap and perfect for this party….this party that I swore would only be cupcakes and nothing else.

Blippi wears an orange bow tie, therefore, so did all of our forks with orange napkins tied with ribbon.

Now these cars, trucks, etc.  were the best thing to ever sit on a cupcake to these kids.  They are actually small pullback toys and not cupcake toppers so they got to each take home a few of these small toys.  I got the whole pack of these pullbacks on Amazon for under 10 dollars.  HOLLLERRRRRR! And it still went with the theme soooooo, I’m excited. You could use these cars and construction vehicles for a ton of different parties too, from Easter egg hunts at Easter shindigs, pinatas, or loads of little boy (or girl) party themes.

Okay so truthfully, maybe this is my favorite thing and the floating glasses second.  Since there are no such thing as Blippi cake toppers, I screenshotted images of him on Bing and sent them to Walgreens from my good ole celluar device.  I printed 4 of each image and cut them out, turning them into cupcake toppers.  The huge dancing Blippi is funny to make and I loved having a huge topper because usually, they are tiny old things.

I made his party hat with leftovers of things I had: leftover hat, extra felt from making the table decor, and a small strip of streamer.  I mean……

50 cent suckers from Walmart in Blippi colors.  All. Day. Long.

“So much to learn about, it’ll make you want to shout….BLIPPI!”

Pin, share, enjoy!  Thanks, yall!

Awesome Blippi party! So cute. Going to copy you…or at least the cupcake toppers.
Any thoughts about how to do something Blippi-tastic outdoors?

    Thank you!

I thought I posted a response to this already so it must not have posted? So sorry! I would do anything I did for this party outdoors and it was originally going to be outdoors. I was going to hang the balloons and glasses from and outdoor canopy…just a cheap one from Walmart. The chairs could easily be turned into outfit details to match the outfit tables with huge bow ties on the back. Cups made to match the party hat my son wore in some of the pictures. If you are stumped on something, I will be happy to throw out solutions! I love to do that….thus the blog haha. Sorry again that my earlier response never posted! I’m probably too late now!

I love everything about this Blippi party!! Simple and sweet! My son’s 3rd bday is in 2 days. I got the mini trucks from Amazon and I’m printing some photos to use as cupcake toppers. Your cupcakes look so perfect! The frosting looks great! Did you bake the cupcakes yourself? I have cake mix and frosting but nervous it won’t come out nice. Any pointers? Thanks for this wonderful Blippi Birthday Party story!

I don’t think my responses have been sending via my email and I know this is late, but just for principal! Canned frosting will never turn out that way unless it’s medium stiff buttercream by Wilton from a cake decorating section of a store. I use to decorate cakes so I know my way around icing but I bought these from a grocery store bakery and added my diy cupcake toppers! My site is all about what I call realistic Pinterest so I apply the work smart method where I can and save myself some time on baking and put my time in the creative parts 😃

Did you had to resize the pictures before sending them to Walgreens to be printed?
I can’t find that same image you used of blippi standing and have no idea if any image I pick will be too big.
    Let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks.

Do you have any ideas for activities at a Blippi party? I am a children’s librarian and scheduled a morning Blippi party on a Saturday thinking I would have 5 or 10 kids. Now I have 50 signed up and we had to put a cap on it! Scrambling in Indiana!

Ahhhh I’m too late! I am throwing 2 parties in 9 days and I’m behind the gun! I would love to know what you came up with! I probably would’ve said make your own bow tie or decorate your own Blipping glasses just as something on the fly! Pin the tie on the Blippi. You can search Blippi coloring sheets, too. Those are the fastest in the pinch things I can throw at you! The bow tie things you can use napkins for like I did here.

This is awesome! We’re doing a Blippi dinosaur birthday so I love seeing that someone else combined the two seemingly “unrelated” things to make one of Blippi’s video themes 😊 where did you find the glasses? The only ones I can find have lenses or are official Blippi glasses from the site and I don’t want to pay that much!

Don’t feel bad! It’s my most asked question lol. I have posts where I joke that I could write anything here because no one reads the posts 😂 Send me your party pics and I’ll share some! Find her party pants on Facebook to share them with me!

    Hello there!

I love your ideas! I’m having a Blippi party for my son who turns 3 in April. It will be an outdoor party, and I’m trying to create activities that Blippi usually does in his videos..for example- having a ball pit, maybe a kiddie pool with sand so kids can dig up stuff using tonka toys, a Blippi piñata, perhaps a jumper? Any other outdoor activity suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Kavita

How is this for the world’s slowest response?! And it gets better, I don’t have any ideas lol. He does do a sink or float episode so if you wanted two pools, one could just have a bunch of sink or float things in them to experiment with. That’s all I got, girlfriend! My son who I did the party now no longer watches Blippi so it’s been a minute!

Hi! Love your cute ideas! I want to try and do the bow tie napkins but am clueless. Do you have any pointers or directions on how you did that? Thank you!!

Thank you! The napkins are super easy. All you need is ribbon, napkins, and hot glue. Just pinch your napkins in the middle and wrap a small piece of ribbon around the center, securing in the back with hot glue. You can fluff the napkin if need be after 🙂.
