It is true that Pinterest is the single most powerful social media tool for bloggers. Yes, even more powerful than the great and mighty Facebook. Pins are like little commercials that work for you and your content so pin to wins are the perfect contest!

I got this as a gift from a sweet friend and I really wanted to use it but it didn’t match my kitchen so, I had to make it! I took this bad boy from Cracker Barrel to Crate in Barrel in less than 15 minutes with one simple step.
My husband rolls his eyes and says, “She thinks she can spray paint anything…” And the great news is, you totally can! I am apt to spray paint anything without a heartbeat.
I used Krylon’s Pistachio and rocked this beast to a solid, sleek look with a touch of vintage with the color chosen. You love it. You know it. Come on, let your momma know it.
This looks great with my white back splash behind it, sitting next to coral ranuculas and white ceramic numbered jars….which you won’t see because the lighting in my kitchen is like a dungeon. Maybe I should spray paint the lights….

Baking soda and vinegar volcanoes never get as crazy, big and fluffy as I would like and I needed a big effect for my party of 35 to see my gender reveal “lava” color.
I decided to go with elephant toothpaste and here is how you do it:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of 40 Volume hydrogen peroxide (This can be found at beauty supply stores. You can not use any old hydrogen peroxide for this. This is a 6% solution and for $3.50, I got enough to do this experiment a good 4 to 5 times.)
1 Tablespoon blue Dawn liquid dish soap
1 packet of active dry yeast
3 Tablespoons warm water
Food coloring of your choice (10 to 20 drops depending on how bold you want the color)
Casserole dish or tray with a high lip to catch the flowing action!
Directions:
Mix hydrogen peroxide and Dawn soap together in a water bottle/vase/ etc.
Put mixture on to the casserole dish or lipped tray you want to catch the goods.
In a separate bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of warm water with one packet active dry yeast until it is mostly dissolved.
Using a funnel or measuring cup, pour yeast mixture into the peroxide mixture and immediately see a result!
It is so fun, warm and fluffy and perfectly say to touch and play with! It’s mainly just oxygen and something else but I can’t remember. What am I, Bill Nye The Science Guy?
Do it for fun, a science lesson or for a reveal like mine! The kids go crazy for this stuff and it was just what my party needed!
*Color much more vivid in real life!
How to make these volcanoes:
What you will need:
Acrylic craft paint in the color of your choice for the volcano
Paper trees in various sizes (When I say paper, they are more like chipboard and in the crafting and chipboard section of Hobby Lobby. Also, sold at Christmas for Christmas crafts.)
A cheap plastic baby bottle
Hot glue gun
Serrated Knife
Tissue paper in orange and yellow, cut into flame shapes and stuffed into the opening while the reveal awaits!
Directions:
Paint volcanoes in the color of your choice, adding a question mark for the reveal cone.
Cut off the top of your “tree” about 3 inches from the top with a serrated knife.
Take your baby bottle and wedge it firmly through the bottom of the cone, up to the opening you cut. If it does not get close to being flush with your opening, cut the cone off a little more.
Once wedged, take your hot glue gun and fill in the rim of the bottle generously to the inside of the volcano to give it extra security.
Follow directions above and lava away!

When I came up with this idea, I needed an invite and Megan at Red Haven Letters on Etsy, made this for me! She’s a friend and she’s talented and rolled this out for me so there was lots of winning involved. She creates prints, invites and does custom work as well. Check her out! She is on a short break after just having a sweet baby but she shall return!
And before we really get rolling, a HUGE thanks to Joel Ham Photography for providing me with these awesome pictures and for providing many of the stock images I have used over the years between my 2 sites!
Pink or blue? Either way we’ll LAVA you!
Don’t you LOVE this tissue paper garland I found on Amazon?!
Do you recognize these “volcanoes” I made? These were the mountains I made for my sister’s super simple mountain shower. I painted them black, cut of the top, stuffed them with tissue paper I trimmed to look like lava and there you have it. I’ve used these cones/tree things 3 times now! They are now laid to rest. You’ve been good to me, guys. Thanks for the memories.
Pick a lei! Solid color for a boy, rainbow colors for a girl.
Mini lava cake bar with options for hot fudge, caramel sauce, fresh pineapple chunks (from coring the pineapple vase), strawberries, powdered sugar, and cinnamon! Simple, cute and yummy!
Cupcakes with chocolate Lindor truffles on the inside. Fill the cups, plop a truffle in and cook to cupcake directions. I’ll admit, these are lazy man’s lava cakes and they weren’t very “lava”, but they were easy, good and best of all THEME RELATED bam! A lava cake bar is unique too, y’all, and I love unique! They were rich cupcakes at the end of the day but the hot fudge helped make them lava like. Pretty much all lava cakes are from scratch and made and served on the spot. That is hard/impossible to do at party! I looked at GFS and they did have frozen individual lava cakes but for 65 dollars for 24 and I needed 35 or more. PASS! On to lazier, cheaper, less stressful ways…
NOW FOR THE BIG VOLCANO REVEAL!!!! I will post this week how I made the reveal volcano and what in the heck I did to get this effect. I did not use baking soda and vinegar! Not big enough effect for me!
Yep, that’s blue!!!! Much bluer in person! Check out those reactions! That’s how people look when you’ve had three girls in a row and then a surprise boy!
Come on! This is great!
Our little hula girls were SO excited!!! It’s what they prayed for! (Minus the baby who is in denial.)
I let all of the kids at the party play in the volcano after it was revealed!
I ALWAYS do a name reveal. This time I did name cards and sent them home with family. All of the cute with none of the opinions, haha. Frances Jane Crosby, the full name, is neat because my mother-in-law is Jane and her mother was Francis.
Kid favors: Volcano brand (how perfect) popping candy! I put 5 in each bag and topped them each with tissue paper “lava” and tied them with baker’s twine. You can never go wrong with baker’s twine.
Pin, share and enjoy!
Make sure to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram (right side bar) and here on herpartypants.com. Cheers to 4 kids and my first SON. WHAT?!?!?

Okay, so these are amazing and custom made on Etsy from a seller in Europe. You CAN do just one doll customized to look like your child, BFF, etc. OR for quite a bit more, you can have a whole family! Ack, I love it! Admittedly, most people couldn’t pay for a family for something so novel but since one doll is under 30 and because they are so crazy cute, I had to include them.

Turn Your Child’s Art Into A Plush
Budsies was on Shark Tank and while everything on this list prior is under 30 dollars, some things even less than half of that, this one is a go big or go home price point. BUT hey, there’s always grandparents. They are under 100 but still, not your everyday gift. Come on, though, a one of a kind, handmade quality plush is pretty awesome for that one special art loving kid. I just had to include them.

There is still plenty of snow left in the season…unfortunately…said the mom on her kid’s 8th snow day. Why not package this cute, non-toy gift idea for a friend or grandchild this winter? I scored this bad boy at Aldi for just under 10 dollars. They also had snow fort maker cubes which I was too slow to get. Dang. This is also a really easy gift to mail a special kid you love! Just wrap it in brown paper and it’s good to go!
He comes with all of the snowman accessories you need, including two snowmen paint pens in blue and red to REALLY make him fancy!
Want one? I will mail this one to you! To enter, follow me on Instagram, comment on this Instagram pic and I will choose a winner this week. That’s the good thing about me here on herpartypants….I’m always snaggin’ good deals I see and giving them away! Giveaways don’t have to be huge, they just have to be free!
Happy snow day! In Kentucky anyways =0)

I found these two puppies on good ole’ Pinterest. I picked out the choice pool and let my two girls each pick one out. LOVE THEM! One printable is free (gem) and one I bought for 3 dollars on Etsy (donut). I had my own card stock so it was really affordable! Aren’t they the sweetest?!
GEM OF A FRIEND {FREE PRINTABLE AT BLOOM DESIGNS ONLINE IN THE SCHOOL SECTION OF PRINTABLES, NOT VALENTINE’S}
Baker’s twine, small clear bags and an assortment of ring pops and you be straight ballin’ on Valentine’s Day. I used clear little bags from the bead and jewelry aisle at Hobby Lobby and trimmed of the Ziploc top after tying them off. They come in a cha-jillion a pack.
DONUT I’D DO WITHOUT YOU {ETSY FROM SOS PRINTABLES , $3 INSTANT DOWNLOAD}
Just buy a bag of mini doughnuts and be a blessin’ on this Valentine’s. We bought both chocolate and powder to use a mix of both. Are these not making your heart smile?! Usually I feature gift ideas that I’ve come up with but this time, this was a gift given to my girls by my long time friend, Katie Dendy. These gifts below are busy bags for big brothers/sisters. She went to the dollar store and filled up bag with lots of dollar items from Grow A Flower kits and sunglasses, to pre-bagged crafts and sticker books. For a dollar a piece, anyone can give this gift and both mom and kids appreciate them for very different reasons. Kids feel special and mom has something to entertain the kids with while she is busy and nursing or when she just needs rescue from the kids boredom.
I LOVE this affordable, fun, thoughtful and helpful gift idea! Thanks, Katie! My girls loved them!
P.S.- The cupcake book came from Target, not the dollar store, and was for my new bundle.

Photo books are great but admittely, are a labor of love and can get expensive. HOWEVER, you and I both know we have 8,000 pictures you love but will never print. Albums can’t hold of the pictures mothers take these days! When I was a kid, my mom had approxiamtel6 28 times and one shot each to get it right on a roll of film. Paying per roll and needing an actual camera on you at all times had a way of helping make sure you didn’t have 60 photos of your kid going down the slide that look basically the same.
I decided a few months ago that I wanted to chronical my children’s growth all while never forgetting all of the birthday parties they’ve had and loved through the years. It doesn’t matter what or how big the party was. It’s a way to capture each year, during the same time every year so you can see in one whole book what they loved, what they were like, and how they’ve grown.
Sooo, I’ve decided to make birthday books for my girls instead of trying to print of all of the memories. I have them ranging from 1 to 4 or 1 to 5 years per book and I’m not done with them, but I love them! What do you think? I think they will treasure these their whole lives.
And even if book costs can add up, there are TONS of ways to save on Shutterfly ALL OVER THE PLACE. You can find one 20 dollar off Shutterfly code today just by doing regular things!!!
