Inked Tile Ornaments

25th November 2020

Are these pleasing to your eyeballs or what?! Pick up some individual glazed small tiles at a home improvement store OR buy one square foot piece of backsplash or tile and peel each tile off. It’s so easy and cheaper chespersons.

I bought some pearlized alcohol inks in bright colors from the scrapbook section at Hobby Lobby. I didn’t use a dropper, but rather let it drip out on its own. Believe me, it’s like water and you NEVER want to squeeze it! Drip onto your surface trying not too mix the colors very much or you’ll end up with a brown swirl poop tile. Make sure to spray/cover each one when they are dry to seal your ornament. I didn’t and know I should have. I would assume a Modge Podge made for ceramic or glazed surfaces would suffice, but don’t call those facts in to the news.

We put stickers on them of my girl’s initials to be peeled off after we covered them with ink. Then we just hot glued on some silver elastic to the back so they could be hung on a tree!

You could do these larger as fun coasters too! Party on, Wayne. Party on, Garth.

Spooky Cookie Box Halloween Treats

28th October 2020

Smack your granny to the grave! I loved creating these! I saw these little craft window box cookie boxes at Hobby Lobby and really wanted to use them. I asked my son what he would like me to make one of these boxes into for Halloween and he said, “A werewolf!”. Then I made it into a werewolf and he cried and said, “NO! I said a dragon.” And that is craft time with a 4 year old.

I went to the googly eye section at Hobby Lobby and found these eyes and noses. The have screws on the back of them, so I made holes with thumbtacks carefully into the box window and gently enlarged them with a circular motion until the eyes and noses would pop in.

I had so much fun with the werewolves that I went on to make witches, mummies, black cats, and Frankenstein (my favorite).

I filled the boxes with Hershey bars because it’s my son’s favorite candy and the ONLY candy he will eat! Some of the boxes I filled with gummy fangs and eyeballs left over from girl’s Halloween treats that I posted earlier this week. Hope this inspires you to make something for your kid that they will whine about anyways!

He liked it in the end so he avoided being removed from my will leaving him literally hundreds of dollars.

Happy Halloween!

Cotton Candy Cauldron Halloween Treats

27th October 2020

If I was a witch, then this would be my brew. Cherry cotton candy stuffed into mini cauldrons from Target is where its at! I bought iridescent bags from Five Below to put them in, tied with baker’s twine and the same “Hey Boo” tags I used in my last post. The tags are a free printable from Damask Love, if they tickle your creative fanny.

I love the the cotton candy is pink and that the bag reflects a pink in it’s iridescence. This treat really gives me all of the Halloween joy in my belly!

My recommendation for this treat in hindsight would be NOT to buy store bought cotton candy. It shrivels and dries out and acts sort of odd. When you touch it, it acts like what cotton candy does when it is touched with moisture. If you do want to use the cheap stuff, just make these treats right before the party or event. You have a good 2 hours with them being fine.

Let’s end on a high note with these pictures 😍. Pin, share, enjoy!

Class Party Halloween Treats

26th October 2020

Aren’t these the cutest?! The “Hey Boo” tag, which speaks deeply to my rap loving soul, you can download for FREE from Damask Love. I thought they were the most fun tags I had seen and free never hurt anybody.

My mom asked me if I wanted her old spice jars before she threw them out. Again, free, so of course, and also, I thought they had party favors written all over them! I washed those bad boys and filled them with gummy teeth and gumball eyeballs from God’s country, Target.

I tied the tags on with baker’s twine from the Lobby of Hobby, God’s other country. Target and Hobby Lobby stem from the original God’s country, Ikea.

Pin, share, enjoy! Happy Halloween!

Guinea Pig Party

16th September 2020

Yes, in real life. We did this tonight. And for the love of everything, please note that Legend the guinea looks like she is smiling in the above picture.

One of my daughter’s guinea pigs turned one today and she wanted to do a celebration and in just 15 minutes, you too can create a guinea party just like this. ! I know you are in desperate desire to.

My child bought them edible flip flop chew toys for guineas and wanted them to have a cake. When she ran next door, I made a veggie cake for the birthday pig with a candle and cupcake stands with sides of veggies for the other two guineas. You should also note the heart shape hay chews for the guest pigs. Those treats were also a gift from my 10 year old to her pigs.

I hope everyone enjoyed this segment of “Yes, we really did do that”. Other names for this segment that were considered: “I better be your favorite parent” and “Oh, Santa is so nice that he got you the guinea you wanted that I never would? Think again. Ho ho ho, player.” That was too wordy though. Enjoy your night.

Godzilla Birthday Party

22nd August 2020

This city-scape spanned 6 feet wide and about 4 ish feet tall. When I finished just the city on the wall, I asked my husband, “What do you think about my night city sky line?”. He said, “Oh, I just now realized what that was!” He almost caught a punch to the jugular.

I made the city using yellow construction paper and two rolls of 2 by 12 bulletin board paper. The whole wall only cost me 7 dollars so it was a big impact for little bucks!

The white city buildings on the table were just spray painted food boxes with black construction paper windows. I was SUPPOSED to have dry ice under each building with holes cut out to release the smoke, but sometimes, we run out of time and let our party dreams shatter.

I found these super hero napkins at the Dollar Tree and they worked well with my black and white with pops of color, color scheme. Plus, I figured Godzilla “pows” and stuff too so, why not?

Naturally, the black cobwebs I used for a buffet cover got messed up and I didn’t realize it when I was taking pictures. It’s like these kids don’t care about a nice set-up or something……

Nothing like a party that you can use your child’s toys as decor for! I hot glued blue raspberry rock candy inside of Godzilla’s mouth to make it look like he was shooting out his atomic breath like he does in the movies. I haven’t seen the movies, but my little boy keeps me up to date on the Godzilla information.

I ordered these old Godzilla movie wrappers from PartyTimeLabels on Etsy and they shipped with the foils too! Hershey bars are my son’s favorite so we dressed up a dozen bars to go with his theme and personalized the backs.

We told the kids that Godzilla sprayed the cupcakes with his fire breath and lit them on fire. I don’t know if they believed us, but if not, they really missed out on a great opportunity to use their imaginations. Kids these days…

Poster board plus scissors = Godzilla prints on our floor.

I took an up close picture of my son doing his best Godzilla roar and blew it up at Walgreens. I cut around his profile and hot glued it to a piece of Dollar Tree poster board. The city is construction paper and black dollar poster board. Super easy! I hot glued my son’s picture to a shoe box that I put between the skyline to give it dimension. The atomic breath he is spraying out of his mouth is a plastic tablecloth that I duct taped to death.

This set up was also supposed to have dry ice behind it, giving it that extra umph. Let’s just pretend you see a bunch of “smoke” billowing out in this picture.

I call this Godzilla City! I was supposed to have a cool banner hanging above the box city that said that, but again, time…. We can’t have it all, folks.

Knowing I wanted to do this, I saved boxes for the past month and then I wrapped them with reverse side of wrapping paper that I had laying around. I used a Sharpie to draw on windows which was actually easy because the white side of the paper had grid lines! I added some toys all around it and the boys had their own little city. I’m actually going to save it for a little bit because the kids liked it so much!

For some end of party fun, I took Godzilla City outdoors and let them each take turns “Godzilla-ing” the thing down. It was some boy fun, let me tell you!

Here I am with my little man and he is wearing a shirt from Etsy at LittleMamaShirtShop and the Godzilla on the front was drawn by a little boy!

And no, I didn’t brush my hair from when I woke up, lol. I feel like you knowing that brings us closer together. Friends forever….

Hope you liked the party! Pin, share, enjoy and follow along all of the unique parties I create that you can realistically and affordably recreate yourself! Peace out, players.

Starbucks Theme Birthday Party

3rd July 2020

This was my first attempt at a balloon garland. Other than when I got dizzy, saw stars, and had to sit down from blowing them up so quickly, t’was good. You can buy balloon garland strips at Hobby Lobby or on Amazon for under 5 dollars. You just blow up your balloons and they pop into the garland strip securely.

I wanted big old Frappucinos down the table and made these guys super easily. The cups are one dollar silver plastic ice buckets from Dollar General that I spray painted white. The brown balloons came in a one dollar pack from there as well and the stuffing “whip cream” came in a 3 dollar bag from Hobby Lobby. The drizzle is fo’ shizzle puff paint. I’m sure you have figured out that the straws are spray painted toilet paper rolls. WRONG! I made those from wrapping paper rolls all cut up. Tricky, tricky.

This is the cake that I made from all store bought things, including the cakes themselves, and the icing! The logo is edible and I ordered that off of Etsy from GlamourGlove and was very pleased! She is offering a discount code for you guys too so you can choose from many options an edible cake/cupcake image for your next party! Just use code BLOGTOPPER10 at checkout! Thanks, GlamourGlove!

You already know I made a coffee filter garland.

Everybody got to order any Starbucks drink of their choice and I had my hubs pick-up and deliver them to the par-tay.

These little bags were cute, but plain on my simple table set-up, so I had to spice them up a bit. I bought Happy Birthday bottle label from Hobby Lobby to put on each bag and then used Starbucks straws and tissue paper to make them look drink-ish. The tissue paper is supposed to be the whip. Work with me here.

I put Starbucks/party themed gumballs in mini frap cups to send home in said bags with each kid. It was a cheap thrill and cute little detail. The main favors are below.

Aw yeah, boyzzzzzz! I ordered these Starbucks scrunchies from A Stitch Ahead Bowtique on Etsy. The shop is owned by a 10 year old little girl, which is cool, and the fabric and work was really good quality. The girls loved them! The only way to get a Starbucks scrunchy is to have them made so they were unique too. Bonus points…..

To say that I loved this take home craft, would be a drastic understatement. But first, I must tell you how I packaged it.

I’m a sucker for clear boxes. I bought a digital file on Etsy of Starbucks labels that I had customized to say DIY Frappucino. I printed them out at Staples, my jam, and hot glued them on. Inside I added paper shred, which you can by from dollar stores, and added in all the supplies needed to make a mini frap for each girl. Yessssss!

Oh my gosh…..using silicone, glue sticks, puff paint, communion cups, ornament halves for the lids, toothpicks, glass beads, mini Starbucks logos I printed off Pinterest, and Starbucks straws, you can make American Girl sized Starbucks frappucinos!!! I can’t. I love them. I made 3 for myself. That’s not a lie either, lol. I made a cool time lapse video of me making one that will be on my herpartypants Instagram account. Totally Rudy on YouTube has a whole channel of mini doll accessory DIYs, including these little drinks.

I will probably do a post on making these mini drinks, because I think everyone should make them at least once in their…..week. Weekly. They are the best.

They got to take home their creations in the little clear boxes I had at each place setting that originally held their supplies.

And a merry Starbucks time was had by all! Pin, share, and enjoy! Hope you liked it!

Wood Burned Kitchen Spoons Hip Hop Edition

17th May 2020

I call this post, “Having Wooden Spoons While Bored in Quarantine”.

I had several Target paint dipped wooden spoons laying around that I wanted to practice wood burning on and apparently, now I have the time.

Big Poppa, gangster, hip hop and stove top, and stir crazy in honor of being stuck at home. I have a really basic wood burning tool from Hobby Lobby for 15 bucks and I me likes a lot. You could make a really cute personalized gift with these! If all else fails, rapper spoons will surely be a crowd pleaser.

Have a great day, you gangster.

DIY Watercolor House Portrait Hack

5th April 2020

If you’ve ever wanted one of those watercolor portraits of your home or a home you once lived in or loved, well join my bandwagon! I have looked at them on Etsy around 1.2 billion times and thought about having someone paint one for me. For whatever reason, I’ve never bit the bullet but love the idea.

One day I decided to take a picture on my phone and turn it into a watercolor digitally and print it off in the world’s cheapest way ever!

First step, get a picture you love of your home or past home and edit it to the size you want with the color adjustments you want made.

Next, download the Waterlogue app for $4.99 and apply the watercolor effect of your choice to your picture. (The app icon is a whale with an umbrella, just so you know you have the right one.)

Last, upload your edited photo to Staples.com and print it off as a BLUEPRINT aka engineer print in color. You can print a large one for around 4 bucks! Yes, folks, you too can have a watercolor portrait of your home, or anything you want, for about 10 bucks! It gets the job done and works for me! While we are at it, it’s also an affordable and sentimental gift idea when framed. Just sayin’….

This is the same type of printing service I use for my parties like I did here.

Get you some watercolor prints, girl!

22 Things You Can Do To Brighten Someone’s Day During Quarantine

28th March 2020

1. Buy a game for a family on Amazon and ship right to their door.

2. Add flowers to your grocery pick up and arrange them at home and drop them on a friend’s porch.

3. Order eggs and candy on-line and go put a surprise Easter egg hunt in a friend’s yard.

4. Send a meal to someone’s door! Most restaurants are selling family style meals now and everyone is delivering!

5. Order bubbles, crafts, chalk, water balloons, silly string, or jump ropes and make an outdoor activity basket to get some kids out of the house. Bubble bath is a great idea to throw in for indoor fun. Babyganics has clean and free bubble baths.

6. Joy Ride! This idea is my husband’s and we’ve been doing it the past few days. Make a jar of mom and dad slips of paper and a jar with every kid’s name on paper in a second jar. We put each kid’s name in twice. Each day, draw one parent and one child to go have a one-on-one joy ride. We let them each pick either a meal or dessert and we go find a place to picnic together. This picture is me and one of my daughters earlier today.

I actually wasn’t drunk in this picture, despite the appearance of intoxication. I call the look “no shower give up quarantine’ look.

7. If you are up to go out in a safer way, go to Walmart’s garden center and pick up some flowers to plant, a bag of soil and planter or a flower basket. You can stay outside, pay outside, and not be in Walmart crazy. Leave them for a friend outside who loves to plant or make them a planter to gift.

8. Make and deliver a treat, or even better, a homemade birthday cake to all of those kiddos missing their planned birthday parties.

9. Drop off a Starbucks or a dozen donuts to someone who needs a little surprise.

10. Mail some happy mail to the elderly at nursing homes or to grandparents missing their grands.

11. Chalk a house! I did this in middle school with friends and we called it chalking. Go with chalk and decorate and leave encouraging messages on someone’s driveway.

12. Decorate a friend’s porch! Get balloons (not helium, just tape blow-ups ones) and streamers and a poster and tell them you love them and miss them. Adding in candy never hurt anybody. 😁

13. Here is a spin on the egg hunt…order the tiny glow sticks (1.5 inch) that fit in your mouth and candy and add them both to Easter Eggs to give a NIGHT egg hunt. It looks really cool and most people have never seen or done a glow hunt. You can get all of this on Amazon per usual life. 🙂 Light colored plastic eggs will glow the brightest! Everydaysavvy.com has these details PLUS a link on Amazon for the tiny glow sticks.

14. Serve somebody else! Show up and mow someone’s yard, pull their weeds, string some porch lights, plant flowers, walk a dog for someone who is home bound or elderly, or anything else you can think of. This is great for anyone, but especially for those among us who can’t do those things easily for themselves. This also is for anyone you can bless who hates yard work!

15. Have a meal kit delivered to someone’s house to have something different for dinner and as an activity a family can do together.

16. Adopt a student. We have a university in my hometown and they are offering an adopt-a-student option as a way to help some students that are quarantined on campus. I’m guessing that they are all international students who can’t return home during this time. Sending a student some cheer and essentials that are so far from home. Check the embeded link above to adopt a student. See if your hometown college has a program like this or maybe even start one up if not. I can’t imagine being a world away from friends and family during this time.

17. Make an outdoor/indoor scavenger hunt to leave in someone’s mailbox for their children. If you have a printer at home, just look for some on Pinterest and print them off at home and deliver with some bags so that the kids can collect their goodies.

18. Send an Amazon, Target, or any kind of gift card to a place still shipping to a friend who is slowly losing it inside. 😂

19. My favorite thing of all and I can’t claim as an idea. Create a sitting space in the tailgate of your van or truck. Go to an empty parking lot, park in a circle spaced out 10 feet or so from each other, and see your friend’s faces while you talk! If you don’t have a tailgate, put a blanket on the ground by the trunk of your car. These moms below ditched their kids and drank coffee and talked car to car. DREAM!

20. Use your gifts to bless someone else! If you knit, make someone a blanket. If you are handy, fix something for someone outside of their home or change their oil. If you are financially blessed, order groceries for someone or deliver essentials to shut-ins or less fortunate families. If you bake, deliver food. If you are a photographer, take pics from a good distance outdoors of friends. I have a friend who just offered this to me! If there is anyway you can safely use a gift or skill to encourage someone else, we should always use these things for others at all times, but especially now!

21. Paint rocks with your kids and hide them around your neighborhood along paths that families are walking regularly.

22. Tell your friends not to come outside or look outside for 15 minutes when you arrive at their house and set up fun disposable tablecloths, plates, cups, and silverware as a surprise picnic/dinner set-up. Tell them to go check their back porch when you leave and put a note on the table telling them that they hoped this would brighten up their day and lunch/dinner!

One day at a crazy stuck at home time, people! Make someone else’s day a little less quaratine-y! Pin, share, enjoy
